I've built last im 6.4.0-1 under Mac OS X but the problem remains.

I want to use IIPimage, "open source ligh-weight client server system
for the remote viewing of very high-resolution images".

This software works under OS X but the images created under
ImageMagick don't work.
In this page there are some example:

http://iipimage.sourceforge.net/images.shtml

The image format used is Tiled Pyramidal TIFF.
There's an example using ImageMagick

% convert source_image ptif:output_image.tif[256x256]

The image created with im 6.4.0-1 is ptif but not tiled.
I've tested many source image, jpeg, png, tif, gif but the problem
remains: the ptif file is not tiled.

In order to test the server there is a TIFF image:
http://merovingio.c2rmf.cnrs.fr/iipimage/PalaisDuLouvre.tif

This image is tiled ptif. See the info with

% identify -verbose output_image.tif

Is this a bug?

THANKS IN ADVANCE
