[magick-users] image type question

[Perl Contractor]

I wish to convert indexed/pallete type images to truecolour images, can I 
detect the type of an image using Image Magick (I will be using 
PerlMagick).

There are classes called PseudoClass and DirectClass, are  these related 
to the above
