[magick-users] Error: invalidfont in findfont (Courier)

I have seen this Ghostscript error in converting PDF to images files.

If the PDF has Courier font embedded the conversion does not produce an error.
However if Courier is not embedded it does produce the error.

Is this expected behavior or should the local Courier font  satisfy the process 
and prevent the error ?
If so, is the problem an issue with GS not finding the font locally and how can 
this be remedied ?
