[magick-users] dpi issues converting from pdf to tiff

I'm running into some issues with the conversion of pdf's to tiff 
format. The pdf's in question are all single page designs meant to be 
used for printing brouchure-type materials. The pdf's are generated 
using fop and all the collateral materials inside the pdf are at 300 dpi.

The first issue I'm having, which may fix all the other issues, is that 
IM defaults to reading the pdf at 72 dpi. It gives me an image that has 
the correct canvas size (6.125 x 9.125) but the pixel dimensions are 
obviously off. I can resize and set the density afterwards, but its not 
giving me the good results that I want. I presume I should be able to 
tell it to read the pdf at 300 dpi since pdf's are resolution 
independent, but I can't figure out how. Any thoughts?
