[magick-users] Proper Resampling

I am running into an issue where images are uploaded at
612x403 DirectClass 210kb 0.040u 0:01
They are run thru -strip and -resample 72z72 but after doing so the images
are then 
441x290 DirectClass 142kb 0.020u 0:01
At this point I tried to scale the image back to where it was and it is then
badly pixelated. It seems to me that sometime ago I saw a hint somewhere
that mentions something crafty that needs to be done in the command. I am
not able to find it. :( Anyone recall what I am talking about? Do I need to
get the size and feed it back into the mogrify command? Anyone have a sample
that I can try out?
