I tried the same command "convert -size 100x600 gradient:#000-#fff
gradient.gif"
The results were great, fantastic, impeccably smooth.
I am using version 6.3.1-Q16. Perhaps a bit old by the standards of the
die-hard enthusiasts but it is working for me.
