| I would like to write a script that will align a sequence of images. This is
| useful e.g. for time lapses where camera has accidentally been moving, or
| telescope tracking has been inaccurate. The images are JPEG. My idea is to
| extract a color channel (that is, an array with a value for each pixel) and
| correlate images, shifting vertically/horizontally and finding the best
| correlation. If necessary I could add rotation.
|
| 1) Does anybody know of a (free) program that will align images? Windows
| preferred, but Linux is fine too.
If you find some alignment program PLEASE let me knwo too.
I want it for image comparisons to find duplicates (or near duplicates).

Never ask them for an explaination. You only end up worse confused.
