[magick-users] Possible to display 16bit TIFF on XP?

Hi,
I work on a piece of (Windows XP-)software that deals with 12/16bit TIFFs. The SW does image acquisition and should display the results. The user should be able to tweak the lookup table (-> contrast, histogram equalisation) -- without changing the original data! And the LUT should be filed with the TIFF (is this covered by the TIFF standard?).
What I need to know before deciding:
(1) The SW is developed in C# on .NET 1.1. Is there a convenient possibility to attach to ImageMagick (like Magick++) ?
(2) Can ImageMagick be used (or be helpful) to integrate displaying the image into our SW?
(3) Afaik, Windows can handle up to 8 bit color depth. How can I deal with that, since I depend on 12/16bit TIFFs? Can this be done via a LUT?
(4) Is there a convenient framework that offers GUI controls for LUT handling?
I highly appreciate all answers that help me to decide how to procede. Thanks in advance!
Cz.
