I've built the newest version but it isn't working right. when i run ./configure, it says jpg and png are available, but when I try to convert them, it appears to just copy the data from the original file into the new file and then change the extension. *sigh*

Subject: [magick-users] Help Compiling 6.3.5 on Ubuntu Fiesty?

I'm trying to figure out a problem I'm having on my Ubuntu machine, and I suddenly realized that the packaged version of IM is like 2 years old. I'm trying to build the newest version, and it compiles successfully, but without support for PNG, JPG, etc. I'm pretty green when it comes to most of this, but I'm guessing that IM is looking for libpng, etc in a different place than I have them...although I don't know where they install by default or how to tell IM to look there.

Tips? Advice?

Thanks,

Nate
