I can confirm the problem with my set up

- Photoshop 7
- Mac OS X 10.4.6
- IM 6.2.8

that's both with your test PSD and one I created in Photoshop 7.

However now I can get the layer names - hurrah! I could have sworn I 
tried Get('label') when I saw that name used in the verbose output 
from the command line, but obviously not.

Incidentally is there any authoritative resource for pinging and 
manipulating PSDs with ImageMagick?
