We're using ImageMagick 6.4.2-1 and cannot reproduce the problem.  We also
tried with ImageMagick 6.3.5 and got the expected results for both PNM and
PNG.  If you have the time, try ImageMagick 6.4.2 and see if that fixes the
problem.
