[magick-developers] Building ImageMagick-6.3.7 With JPEG Capabilities ..

I'm having some problems building ImageMagick-6.3.7 from source so that
it has JPEG and/or JPEG2000 capabilities.  In theory I should be able to
build openjpeg-1.2 first somehow, but all that seems to do is produce a
libopenjpeg.so file.

So where do I place that so a  command like:
 ./configure --prefix=/opt/sw/im-6.3.7 --without-perl --with-modules  ..

.. will work?

Or is there something else I can use besides openjpeg .. and if so, how?
