Its difficult to debug just given a code snippet.  ImageMagick supports
multi-threading and we have no current reports of threading problems.  Are
you using a modern version of ImageMagick?  The current release is 6.5.4-0.

Are you loading PDF?  If so, can you load a PNG image instead?  That will
determine if the exception is related to a specific image type.  Otherwise
you will need to post a minimal working program we can download with
detailed instructions on how to reproduce the problem.
