Thanks a lot, I can reproduced this on my computer (although I did not
get error messages).
In the meantime, I figured out that a key to the problem is OpenOffice
(2.4). I opened a new empty presentation, drew a rectangle and exported
it; this is enoug to make ImageMagick's display command segfault.
Here is the file attached. It is a bit fat for just a square…
