[Magick-bugs] ImageMagick does not link against a shaping engine

Hi,
I tried to write Tamil labels to an image using ImageMagick and found
it to do it incorrectly. Using Tamil UTF-8 fonts will result in wrong
character order. This seems to be a result of ImageMagick not using any
shaping engine that would take care of character order and ligatures
(like in GTK+ based application pango often does). As the absence of
shaping makes it impossible to write certain labels with certain fonts,
I consider this not only a missing feature but a bug.

Is there any chance ImageMagick could at least optionally link against
some shaping engine in future versions?
