Its not, its an issue with DSC comments being wrong and ImageMagick
making decisions about which Ghostscript device to use based on the
incorrect information.  Other than modifying your legacy application
to generate proper DSC comments you can edit delegates.xml and change
the pngalpha device to pnmraw.  However, if you do, ImageMagick will be
unable to render transparent EPS image files.
