[Magick-bugs] Installation of binary under kubuntu 7.10

I download the binary 

ImageMagick-6.3.8-1.x86_64.rpm

from the web site.   Then using the following
sequence of commands:

sudo alien -k ImageMagick-6.3.8-1.x86_64.rpm
sudo dpkg -i  imagemagick_6.3.8-1_amd64.deb

I get the following output:

dpkg: regarding imagemagick_6.3.8-1_amd64.deb containing imagemagick:
 libmagick9 conflicts with imagemagick (<= 5:6.0.1.2-1)
  imagemagick (version 6.3.8-1) is to be installed.
dpkg: error processing imagemagick_6.3.8-1_amd64.deb (--install):
 conflicting packages - not installing imagemagick
Errors were encountered while processing:
 imagemagick_6.3.8-1_amd64.deb


Is there a different version of one of the utilities?

Inquiring minds wanna know.
