Thanks, Anthony, for the reply.
Not to be argumentative, but I've been using `animate' to
instantaneously step through a sequence of (similar) images for at
least 8 years. The behaviour _used_ to be that the image name would
change along with the index in the Title bar of the window.
It no longer does. The behaviour I desire seems to have
broken between 6.2.5 and 6.2.8. On my Fedora core 5 machine,
(IM 6.2.5) the name changes as I step, either forward or backward.
In 6.2.8 (Fedora Core 6), the first name in the list of frames gets
printed and remains. This seems to be a bug (which I've seen come and
go before).
