This is a resend from a Mail that I send Tue Aug 10 11:52:39 2004:

Since 1985, there is my "UNIX cmp" replacement "compare" which does a 
generic file comparison. As it seems that your program did come up later 
than mine and yours does a less generic job, it would be nice if you could 
change the name of your "compare" to a less generic one (e.g. "icompare" 
ImageCompare) to avoid name clashes.
