Can one create an *empty* image using wand api?

The MagickWand interface is a new high-level C API interface to ImageMagick core methods. We discourage the use of the core methods and encourage the use of this API instead. Post MagickWand questions, bug reports, and suggestions to this forum.

You can always read an image in the XC format and specify the size. From the command line it looks like this:
  • convert -size 400x400 xc:black image.png
