Pinging an image is designed for performance but the trade off is that the image pixels are not read. Without the pixels, its impossible to compute the image depth.
It is sad, but is it impossible to read just one pixel to know exact BitDepth

Re: Possible a bug with BitDepth() method

You are pinging the image, what happens when you read it instead? If I read image a1, a2, a3 are 8, as expected. But I must ping image, not read it. May be someone knows how to get bitspersample for image through pinging? Now I use such crunch code: int bitDepth = magIm.Depth; ColorType type = magI...

Possible a bug with BitDepth() method

Hi! I found that method BitDepth of class MagickImage is always returns 1. Example: magIm = new MagickImage(); magIm.Ping(path); int bitDepth = magIm.Depth;//8 var ls = magIm.Channels.ToList(); //R G B B (it is a CMYK image) int a1 = magIm.BitDepth(Channels.CMYK);//1 int a2 = magIm.BitDepth(Channels...

How to know JPEG's real BitDepth?

Hi! I have some jpeg files with BitsPerSample=8 and ColorComponents=3 in terms of ExifTool. Windows explorer's property details for those files shows BitDepth=24. MagickImage shows BitDepth=8. I want to get value 24 for these files with help of MagickImage, but I can't find any property like ColorCo...

Hi!

I use MagickImage.NET (Magick.NET-Q8-AnyCPU, Version=7.14.5.0) and I want to read a huge tiff file by parts in height of 200-300 pixels.
Is it possible to do?

MagickReadSettings's size is not working

Hi. I use Magick.NET (Magick.NET-Q16-x64, Version=7.14.5.0) and I have the next code: MagickReadSettings rs = new MagickReadSettings() { Width = 200, Height = 200 }; using (MagickImage image = new MagickImage("SomeBigTiff.tif", rs)) //Tiff's real size is 8688*5472 { var w = image.Width; //w = 8688 b...

Resize during image read in Magick.NET

Hi! I have read about 'Resize During Image Read': The resize operator can also be applied to images immediately after being read, before it is added to the current image sequence and the next image is read. That way a minimal amount of memory is needed to read in a lot of images. Example: convert dr...

Set white balance on CR2 conversion.

Hi! I convert CR2 to uncompressed TIFF with magickimage: FREE_IMAGE_FORMAT format = FREE_IMAGE_FORMAT.FIF_RAW; MagickImage image = new MagickImage(FreeImage.LoadBitmap("SomeCr2.cr2", FREE_IMAGE_LOAD_FLAGS.RAW_PREVIEW, ref format)); image.Format = MagickFormat.Tiff; image.BitDepth(8); image.Settings....

Re: Huge difference between ICC Profile Versions

If I explicitly set intent Perceptual results are like without intent at all.

I don't know what colorants are, but I see, that profiles are working because image is changing.

Huge difference between ICC Profile Versions

I created ICCProfile in i1Profiler and save it in three different ICC versions, which that program allows: Version 2 Version 4 Version 4 (with ICCMax) Then, I convert some Test.jpg from each of those profiles to sRGB_v4_ICC_preference with such commands: magick.exe "Test.jpg" -verbose -profile "v2.i...

I don't understand. "-dither" has no relevance to "-profile" conversions.
In magick yes. I already understood that. But in Adobe Photoshop in "Convert profiles" there is such option "Dither".

Re: What method magick uses when converting color profiles?

Thank you greatly! But what method is used in AddProfile in ImageMagick for .NET? No any parameters in that method for "intent"
