Re: Can't get the linux "portable" download to work

See the answer from probonopd (one of the developers of the AppImage format and tools) on this ImageMagick GitHub issue , regarding library dependencies in AppImages. In particular, as he says: We generally recommend not to privately bundle libraries which can be assumed to be part of every desktop ...

Re: Converting grayscale ppm to png or jpg gives only black and white

It should also be pointed out that netpbm even includes a tool to repair corrupted Netpbm images, "pamfix". Correcting problems of this type appears to be one of its primary (practically only) functions: pamfix reads a stream that is mostly a Netpbm image but may have cer‐ tain types of corruptions ...

Re: Converting grayscale ppm to png or jpg gives only black and white

Changing maxval from 256 to 65535 makes convert do the job, indeed, thanks! But is still odd that both Gwenview and Gimp are able to create good jpg's or png's from the original ppm-files. Re: rewrite the script from windows to linux

please help rewrite the script from windows to linux. ImageMagick 6.9.10-23 The thing is, despite the fact that it uses the `convert` command, your question really isn't about ImageMagick at all — the ImageMagick part will be virtually the same whether you're on Linux or Windows. Your question is r...

Re: Command pipelines attempt to create tempfiles in $CWD?

Many thanks for the amazingly fast response! I probably should've twigged to the tempfile creations being part of the entropy-collection process, what with those reads from /dev/urandom that immediately follow both of them. :-o Out of curiosity, when you say the 'results of the mkstemp() method' are...

Command pipelines attempt to create tempfiles in $CWD?

Image Magicians, I'm chasing down what appears to be a bug in tempfile management in pipelined IM commands, but it's honestly so odd that I'm reluctant to file a formal bug report until I'm sure of what I'm seeing. I'm hoping someone here can help sanity-check my findings. System: Fedora 20 Linux, x...
