Re: DNG to JPG results in distorted image.

ImageMagick leverages libraw to read raw camera format image files. It apparently has a bug when reading your image. In the mean-time try http://darktable.org. It returns expected results.

Re: AVIF & HEIF Support

ImageMagick should instantly be able to encode/decode the AVIF image format once libheif includes AVIF support. They have a AVIF branch that has recent patches. We don't have an ETA on when it will be available. We are hesitant to write an decoder/encoder against libavif as long as there is some pro...

Re: Cache resources exhausted

Increase your Disk policy limit. Its currently 1GiB. Your command creates a pixel cache on disk that exceeds this limit and due to the policy restriction throws an exception.

Re: reading txt:

Thanks for the problem report. We can reproduce it and will have a patch to fix it in GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick later today. The patch will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ http://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ by sometime tomorrow.

Re: Converting grayscale ppm to png or jpg gives only black and white

Try this command:

Code: Select all

$ pnmtojpeg pvar-1.500000.ppm pvar-1.500000.jpg
pnmtojpeg: Red sample value 65535 is greater than maxval (256)
This suggests your image file does not follow the PNM specification. We manually changed the max value from 256 to 65535 and your image now renders properly.

Re: magick translate PAM to PNG ignores compression option

Try this command:

Code: Select all

magick pf-269362.red.sin0.5_1.03.pam -define png:compression-level=0 -define png:compression-filter=0 -define png:color-type=2 pf-269362.red.sin0.5_1.03.im.png
This command took less than 2 seconds to complete for us for a mocked up 145MB PAM image file.

Re: Resizing very large 16-bit TIFF messes up the grayscale.

In the mean-time, we'll add a patch to return expected results without the need for the -evaluate option. The patch will land in the next release of ImageMagick, likely within a week.

Re: Resizing very large 16-bit TIFF messes up the grayscale.

@snibgo is correct. Try this command: magick Mars_HRSC_MOLA_BlendDEM_Global_200mp_v2.tif -evaluate AddModulus 50% -normalize -resize 1024x512 resized.tiff You will likely get the expected image results. However, your image includes a number of private tags. They are ignored by ImageMagick but are pe...

Re: IM 6.9.7 doesn't identify DICOM file

Before JPEG-2000 was readily available, some DICOM files included a lossless JPEG format which required a special patch to the libjpeg delegate library. The patch is likely still available and if you apply it, ImageMagick will likely read you image.

There is a portable version of ImageMagick @ https://imagemagick.org/download/binaries/magick. Its always the latest release of ImageMagick. No compiling required.

Re: Setting map limit

The pixel cache is consuming all the available memory so even some small allocation requests are refused by the system. The problem is likely that your TIFF image drops into the generic TIFF read method that requires width x height memory. Try the latest release of ImageMagick. It has been optimized...
